At Halco Trailers, accessible at [insert Halco Trailers website address], we are committed to protecting the privacy of our website visitors and customers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

If you have questions about this policy, please contact us using the details at the end of this page.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you visit our website, enquire about a trailer, or make a purchase:

• Your name, phone number, email address and postal or delivery address.
• Order details, including the trailer or parts you purchase and payment or finance information.
• Information needed to register your trailer, such as your driver licence or identification details.
• Messages you send us through our website, social media pages, email or phone.

How We Use Your Information

• To respond to enquiries and process your orders.
• To arrange registration, pickup and any parts shipment.
• To provide warranty and after-sales support.
• To send you updates about your order and, where you agree, news and special offers.
• To improve our website, products and services.

Log Files

Halco Trailers uses standard log files, as most hosting companies do. These files record visitors to the website and include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamps, referring and exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer the site, track movement on the website and gather general demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like most websites, Halco Trailers uses cookies. These store information such as visitor preferences and the pages visited, which we use to improve your experience by tailoring page content to your browser type and other details.

You can choose to disable cookies in your browser settings. Each browser provides its own instructions for managing cookies.

Advertising and Third-Party Partners

We use advertising services, including Google and Meta, which may use cookies, JavaScript and web beacons to measure how well our advertising works and to show you relevant ads on our website and on other sites. These providers automatically receive your IP address when this happens.

Google may use DART cookies to serve ads based on your visits to our website and other websites. You can decline the use of DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Halco Trailers has no access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites, so please read their own privacy policies for details and opt-out options.

Website Analytics and Session Recording

We use analytics and session-recording tools, such as Microsoft Clarity, to understand how people use our website and to improve its content, layout and services. These tools may record the pages you view, actions you take (such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement), time on page, device and browser details, screen size, and general location based on your IP address.

We configure these tools to obscure sensitive fields, such as your name, phone number, email address, and payment or finance details, before they are captured. Because some of the information collected, such as an IP address or device identifier, can be linked to an individual, it may be personal information under Australian law.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will only run non-essential analytics and session-recording cookies after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using the same controls.

Disclosure to Overseas Recipients

Some of the services we use, including analytics and advertising services provided by Microsoft, Google and Meta, may send and store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Before using these services, we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle any personal information we disclose in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Disclosure to Others

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with service providers who help us run our business, such as payment processors, finance providers, registration authorities, couriers and website hosts, and where the law requires us to.

Security and Retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as the law requires, and then securely destroy or de-identify it.

Your Choices and Rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, refuse analytics and performance cookies in our cookie banner where shown, or opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link. You may also ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete a specific session recording that you believe relates to you, to the extent we can reasonably identify it.

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

Children’s Information

We encourage parents and guardians to monitor and guide their children’s online activity. Halco Trailers does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.

Online Privacy Policy Only

This Privacy Policy applies to our online activities and to information shared with or collected by the Halco Trailers website. Information collected at our Warragul factory and yard or by phone is handled in line with the same Australian Privacy Principles.

Consent

By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
